Memphis Newspaper Launches Online Crime-Tracking Website
14 April 2007 - 11:00am
On its MemphisCrimeStories.com site, the Memphis Commercial-Appeal utilizes GIS technology to allow residents to plug in their street name or zip code and see recently reported crimes in their areas.
With violent and property crime on the increase in the City of Memphis, the local newspaper has developed a useful tool to allow residents to keep informed on crime statistics in their neighborhoods.
Site users can also view an interactive map displaying all reported crime in the Memphis-Shelby County area.
