Vampires Sucking Electricity From Homes

University of California researchers say vampires are draining 10 percent of electricity in homes.
Also called power supplies, vampires are the chunky, two-pronged plugs thatpower everything from refrigerators to cellular phone chargers. But long afterhousehold appliances such as stereos, computers and bread machines are turnedoff, vampires continue draining standby power from the electrical grid - at anaverage cost of $80 a year per household.
