Gardens To Serve As City Gateway
20 February 2007 - 6:00am
The city of Greensboro, North Carolina plans to create gardens that will serve as a gateway on the city's southeast side.
"The Gateway Gardens botanical park, planned for the city’s southeast side, will serve as Greensboro’s 'welcoming icon' and a catalyst for development in that area, Greensboro Beautiful officials told the city Parks & Recreation Commission Wednesday afternoon."
"The 11-acre, $5 million park will be nestled at the corner of East Lee and Florida streets and will span between Barber Park and the Gateway University Research Park — which, if approved by county officials, will break ground in April. The park is a collaboration between the city and Greensboro Beautiful."
