A Video Tour Of An Automatic Parking Garage
12 February 2007 - 7:00am
This video from the BBC follows the journey of a car through the inner workings at an automated parking garage in New York City.
The automated garage allows customers to simply drive up and leave the rest to the robots. The garage consists of a series of lifts, platforms, and cranes that move each car into its own parking spot.
Additional features may also be added to these automated parking systems, including bomb searching and detection technology for such high security areas as airports. There is also the option to install equipment that will wash the cars while parked in the garage.

These practices are also inequitable since they force non-drivers to subsidize parking costs, reduce travel options for non-drivers, and reduce housing affordability.
