The proposed Wonderful World of Oz is Greater Kansas City's latest big battle over suburban sprawl.
"Developers...envision an Emerald City...an $861 million theme park complexpatterned after ''The Wizard of Oz'' that could attract 3.2million people a year to this rural area 25 miles west of Kansas City.'There's nothing wonderful about the "Wonderful World of Oz,' '' said Bill Sheldon, who heads a group opposed to theproject called TOTO (Taxpayers Opposed To Oz). "
