Lofts On Barges For Floating Living Spaces
19 October 2000 - 7:00am
Architect Rob Pfaffmann proposes to put work and living spaces on barges on Pittsburgh's rivers.
"Regular ol' rectangular steel barges, like the ones you commonly see being towed up and down river, filled with gravel or coal. Only Rob Pfaffmann would build atop them two-story structures that could be residences, offices or combinations of the two, moored to protective pilings at selected sites along the shore near Downtown, and linked to land by gangways."
