Kentucky Declares Emergency After Massive Spill

200 million gallons of coal sludge reaches Ohio River triggering water shortages and school closes across eastern Kentucky.
The coal sludge, "which has the consistency of wet cement, spilled last week from a coalcompany site near Kentucky's eastern border with West Virginia. It seeped into twostreams that flow into the Big Sandy River and ultimately into the Ohio River. The spill unleashed 200 million gallons of sludge."
