New Anti-Planning Blog Established
Infamous planning opponent Randal O'Toole has begun a new blog where he argues against virtually all forms of land use and other government planning.
Excerpts from Mr. O'Toole's new blog include:
"Seventeen years ago, most Americans celebrated the fall of the Soviet empire as a victory of free markets over central planning. Yet most American cities and counties have planning departments and Congress requires that most federal agencies prepare costly, time-consuming, and ultimately worthless plans."
"It is time for someone to say that the planning emperor has no clothes. The Antiplanner will show why government planning fails, document planning disasters, comment on planning news, and present new research and information related to transportation, urban areas, and public lands."

New Yorker Cartoon
I have before me a New Yorker cartoon of two dogs talking with each other.
The caption:
"I used to have a blog, but I've just gone back to the incessant barking."

Mr. O'Toole might want to
Mr. O'Toole might want to tone down the brightness of the greens on the site. It's a bit rough on the eyes.
Best of luck, and yes, expanding the dialogue around the role of planning is always a good thing.
More Problems With O'Toole's Blog
Apart from the bright greens, the notes on the left (About the Antiplanner, Calendar, etc.) overlap the main text of the blog and make it impossible to be - at least with my browser. This is as it should be.

Re: More Problems With O'Toole's Blog
I see that he actually mentions this and says:
"I don’t know what browser they are using, but I suspect it is Internet Explorer, since I don’t have that browser on my computer (and it isn’t even available for the Macintosh anymore)."
So he seems to have a blog that has never been tested with Internet Explorer and doesn't work for some of most versions of it - a brilliant move.
The funniest thing about this blog is the "Themes" selection. It begins displaying trees along the left edge of the page, but can click the "Cars" theme to replace the trees with cars. This is presumably meant to symbolize what O'Toole wants to do to the American landscape.

Service rendered.
In the spirit of reading Randal O'Toole so you don't have to, it is the typical cherry-picked screed against th' gummint, written by someone in the employ of big L Reason mag.
'nuff said.
Anyway, I use Firefox and have a 15" diag LCD monitor at 1024x768 & it displays just fine. Reason should pony up someone from IT to square up the delivery channel for their Wurlitzer-like message.
Best,
