A River of Goo on the Loose

250 million gallons of a molasses-like coal mixture is claiming brigdes, and lawns as it moves at the rate of 10 miles a day towards a river in Kentucky.
"State and federal environmental agencies don't know how long it will take or how much it will cost to remove themassive glob of coal sediment that is several miles long and up to 70 yards wide.No one was injured by the leak, but authorities said wildlife have been killed. Some towns downstream have had to close their water intakes."
