I am planning to apply to planning programs this fall and I was wondering if anyone knew what a competitve GRE school would be for one of the top programs.
Thank you,
Sarah

GRE
I had a 1200 (650 math, 550 verbal) and a 6 average on the writing and was choosing between USC and UCLA. Just to give you some numbers.
GRE scores
Although I don't know exactly what a "competitive" GRE score is, I can tell you that not all programs require the GRE for admission. Some planning schools on the west coast only require the GRE for scholarships and grant purposes. Having recently graduated from one of these "top" planning schools, by far, the most critical factor for admission was the Statement of Purpose....if you can put together a compelling Statement, coupled with decent grades and some strong letters of recommendation, the GRE is nothing to worry about....good luck...
GREs
I agree with rm.
Having a good essay, interesting background, and demonstrated interest in the profession are far better than GRE scores.

Thanks for the pointers. I
Thanks for the pointers. I also heard that reall tailoring the personal statement to the specific program and mentioning names and classes really helps.... true?
