Americans' Love Of Travel

A new survey indicates Americans' appetite for travel is still growing, though high fuel prices and security threats have taken a toll on the public's mood.
Notwithstanding higher gas prices, Americans appear to still have the travel bug. Las Vegas is the destination du jour, according to research by Destination Analysts, a marketing and research company that specializes in travel, tourism and lifestyle.
The automobile remains the mode of choice for leisure trips, but over half of those surveyed reported to taking at least one plane trip during the past year.
