Cape Town Officials Contract For Green Electricity

Although indistinguishable from their usual power supply, residential consumers will be asked to pay more the cleaner-produced fuel.
Officials in Cape Town, South Africa have agreed to buy wind-generated electricity and hope that residential consumers will pay higher prices for it in order to help stop global warming.
"The City...on Thursday signed a 20-year contract to buy wind energy from a yet-to-be-built generating farm at Darling on the West Coast. Mayor Helen Zille said, "ultimately we would like to see Cape Town become one of the world's leaders in sustainable energy."
