Welcome to the 'Urban Century'

To coincide with the World Urban Forum, the Ottawa Citizen devotes most of their Sunday, June 18th newspaper to covering a host of urban issues, including slums, urban gardening, and the case for and against cities [links to 9 articles].
"For better or for worse, the urban century is almost upon us. Soon, most of us will be living in cities. Should we be rending our garments in despair, or breaking out the Dom Perignon?..The urban century raises a host of perplexing questions, many focused on the sustainability of the planet when most of us live in cities. One thing seems reasonably clear: the old model -- auto-dependent, energy-hungry and voracious in its consumption -- is on its last legs. New visions are required."
