From The Illinois River To The River Nile
19 May 2006 - 8:00am
A new development at the confluence of the River Nile has brought an Illinois planner back to her native country of Sudan.
"The project, Almogran (Arabic for confluence) Development, is to implement a mixed use development close to the heart of Khartoum in a beautiful location that has until recently been severely under-utilized as a dumping ground for construction debris." The site is at "the confluence of the Blue and White Niles where they form the River Nile, the longest river in the world and a source of great pride for all Sudanese."
This article highlights a huge, new development that improves on a blight and builds on a country's pride.
