Chicago's Revitalization Story

Chicago's North Town Village revitalization project represents a new way of looking at urban renewal.
Established in 1993 to eradicate severely distressed public housing, the HOPE VI program takes a more comprehensive look at the meaning of "decent, safe and sanitary housing." North Town village is a model for the CHA's implementation of its Plan for Transformation, a $1.5 billion revitalization program for existing public housing sites.
