Amherst IDA Refuses Tax Breaks

A legal fight is looming over the Amherst Industrial Development Agency's refusal to consider tax breaks to two prominent developers.
The Amherst Industrial Development Agency (NY) refused to consider giving tax breaks to Benderson Development and Ellicott Development, who plan to build a hotel in Williamsville. Agency directors voted to deny the request, claiming the $3.4 million hotel planned does not meet the criteria for obtaining IDA-induced retail projects tax incentives.
