Day Laborer Ban Voided by Court

The 1994 LA County ordinance was enacted to in response to complaints about day laborerscongregating around a building supplies store.
The law made it illegal for pedestrians to solicit employment, business or money from anyone driving by. A federal judge has found that it is too broad, vague and unconstitutional. Approximately 12 local cities have similar laws.
