Political Climate Change In Canada

Conservative leader Stephen Harper, who will become Canada's new prime minister has promised to opt out of the Kyoto treaty.
"A change of climate in Ottawa could soon free Canada's energy industry from its Kyoto commitments, a move being greeted with cautious optimism from the oilpatch.
But even if Canada opts out of Kyoto -- as Conservative Leader Stephen Harper promised during the campaign -- many climate change questions remain, say officials in the oil and gas sector."
