Alaska's Shrinking Lakes

Researchers from at the University of Alaska Fairbanks find that Alaska's lakes are shrinking at a dramatic rate.

"Alaska’s lakes appear to be draining into the state’s thawing tundra...disappearing as if someone pulled the stopper out of a bathtub...The shrinking of Alaska's lakes is not only serious for wildlife, a drying Alaskan landscape could alter climate."
