Common Sense And Amtrak

Letter to the editor calls for "common sense" in Washington regarding the future of Amtrak.

"If Amtrak were an airline, it would be the nation's third largest...Amtrak is an essential transportation link for small urban and rural communities across America. For many, it is the only affordable and convenient public transportation...Amtrak recovers more of its cost of operation than any other passenger railroad in the world...How long would the security check-in lines at [congested airports] be without Amtrak?"
