"Pumped up prices do seem to have a way of trumping personalities in the ever volatile real estate field, where the prospects of profits can almost always be counted on excusing the most egregious behavior, especially when flavored with publicity.

...Developers looking on with interest also want to know if there is any basis to the gossip that, whomever the star architects selected, they all tend to be more temperamental, moody artist than stoic practitioner. They worry about being labeled a cloddish client for any possible problems generated by their respective projects. Developers have egos, too."
