URISA Event Applauds Post-Katrina GIS Efforts

43rd annual conference of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) recognized the contributions of GISCorp volunteers for their support in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

"The 43rd annual conference of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA).. dedicated a significant amount of time to the efforts of those GIS professionals who assisted in communities that were hit by Hurricane Katrina. Specifically, URISA's GISCorps took center stage, as corps volunteers stationed in Mississippi and Louisiana discussed their experiences and gave thanks to the GIS community for offering their support to many areas after the storm."
