After the flood waters have receeded, Odd decisions by the Bush administration reagarding the rebuilding effort will make Katrina hurt again, say Neil Peirce.
"Katrina keeps on hurting. America's most vicious storm in a century left hundreds of thousands homeless, incurring its deepest scars on the lives of the poor.
And now, Katrina is about to hurt again, not this time by the force of nature but by the very odd decisions being made by President Bush and power-wielders in Congress...

Continually amazed..
If you consider it an odd decision letting local peopple figure out how best to rebuild their own community, then let us all be odd.
This is life. Bad things happen and we are not god. We can not fix every broken life, every broken house, every broken bridge. Is New Orleans even meant to be built back to where it was before? Is it even worthwhile? Maybe or maybe not, but charging one singular man with that task is a bit ridiculous. Its the job of the community to start that process.
