A trendy new neighborhood has risen at the most unlikely place: Main-LaSalle in Buffalo, New York
It's an old story by now in Western New York: A new development is built, luxury homes go up and people leave their old neighborhoods behind to have the right to say they live in the trendy hot spot. But the old story has a new twist: The trendy hot spot is in ... Buffalo. Critics point out that the neighborhood around Main-LaSalle has deteriorated, and that government money should be used to renovate homes instead of helping to build new ones.
