Illegal Duplexes Create Headaches For Boise City Planners

Boise planners work on emergency ordinance to address substandard lots; infill task force created to work on standards for in-fill development.
"Duplexes illegally relocated to a Boise neighborhood this week prompted the Boise City Council to pursue an emergency ordinance to temporarily suspend or restrict the application process for skinny houses and other substandard lot development...The move comes as the city drafts a design review ordinance for substandard lots — typically lots less than 30 feet wide — and as an infill task force of neighborhood leaders, developers and government officials continues trying to seek standards for infill development."
