ESRI has been providing GIS software and services support to federal, sate and local organizations responding to Hurricane Katrina, including on-site technical support, temporary software licenses, and other assistance.

Planners involved in recovery/reconstruction efforts related to Hurricane Katrina, and needing emergency GIS software, hardware and/or data (both spatial and business/demographic) for the affected areas, they can visit the ESRI WebPages at http://www.esri.com/hurricanehelp to make such request. Free Business/demographic data: In addition, the Business Analyst Online data reporting and mapping Web service is available free of charge to any economic development agency, urban and regional planning agency, trade association, or interested party for use in researching the impact of Hurricane Katrina. Current-year data variables such as population, housing, income, home value, employment, and business summary information can be easily accessed from Business Analyst Online in data reports and thematic maps.
