Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing Association's approach isn't your average affordable-housing venture.
Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing Association Inc., a nonprofit program funded by a wide range of public and private sources, has operated four Denver-area locations where rents average about $500 per month for a two-bedroom apartment. Single parents make up 26 percent of the resident total.The Mutual approach isn't your average affordable-housing venture.Along with below-market rents, residents have a strong voice in how their housing is run. Residents, in fact, make up the entire council at the local level and a 51 percent majority of the regional ones.
