Despite criticism from environmental groups, Regional Airport Planning Committee is likely to recommend runway expansion at San Francisco and Oakland airports.
The Regional Airport Planning Committee wrapped up a year of studies and public hearings to help plan for the region's future air traffic needs. Despite criticism from environmental groups, the committee is likely to recommend runway expansion at San Francisco and Oakland airports. Environmentalists protest that the committee hasn't considered all alternatives and is planning extend the runways miles into the bay.
