Sprawl Imperils Colorado Parks

Suburban sprawl in the Denver area is threatening the health of four of Colorado's most popular state parks.
Roxborough, Barr Lake, Chatfield and Cherry Creek state parks are imperiled by rapid growth in the metropolitan area, according to the National Park Trust. The conservation group, which previously had focused on the needs of the country's 379 national parks, is turning its attention to 3,266 state-run parks nationwide.
