Should A Developer Sit On The Planning Commission?

A developer who sits on the City Planning Commission is at the center of a dispute that pits a university's desire for more student housing against a community's desire for open space.
"David Adelman, the developer who wants to build a new dorm for Drexel University, is more than just another builder who's breaking neighborhood promises and trashing the city's plan for university expansion. He's a member of the City Planning Commission, the agency that wrote the recommendations he's now flouting."
