Boston's Affordable Housing Lotteries

The Boston City Council's proposal to modify affordable housing lotteries is likely to "inflame" the courts.

"The Boston City Council is inviting trouble with its proposal to modify the city's affordable housing lotteries. Proposed changes to the system designed to help low- and moderate-income families cope with gentrification and high housing costs are more likely to inflame the courts than make the selection system more equitable."
