Toronto A Dangerous City For Pedestrians

Despite a Pedestrian Charter, the Canadian city is decidedly unfriendly towards those on foot.
"It's true Toronto City Council proudly proclaimed a Pedestrian Charter several years ago, but that shouldn't be taken too seriously, or allowed to get in the way of progress.
Some might dismiss the charter as an act of breathtaking hypocrisy, but that would be wrong. It's not that Toronto doesn't love pedestrians; it just doesn't want them on the streets. They're fine in parks, malls and backyards, maybe the odd side street where there's minimal traffic."
