Water Regulators Boost Enforcement

Federal and state water regulators increaseenforcement in Southern California.
Growing public concern about beach closingsand contaminated urban runoff have prompted water regulators have nearly doubled enforcement in Southern California increasing the enforcement actions for sewage spills or beach contamination. "The enforcement trend has brought a surge both in the dollar value of fines and in the number of enforcement actions for large-scale sewage spills or bacterial contamination of beaches."
