Florida Puts Rail On The Fast Track

Ignoring official disinterest, Florida residents will vote on whether to build high-speed rail liking five cities.
High speed rail is the subject of a ballot initiative promoted by a retired businessman who believes Florida should play a pioneering role in the development of high-speed mass transit in the United States. The proposal calls for a high-speed rail network linking Florida's five largest cities. Construction would begin by November 2003.
