White House Official Quits After Climate Change Accusations

Philip Cooney, a senior White House aide and an ex-oil industry lobbyist quit days after thhe New York Times published documents that showed he edited government climate change reports.
"A senior White House aide, who previously worked as a lobbyist for the oil industry, has resigned days after it emerged that he edited government papers to play down the threat of global warming....Documents leaked to a whistle-blower project and published last week in The New York Times showed that Mr Cooney repeatedly deleted warnings in official policy papers about climate change. He also emphasised doubts about the scientific research into greenhouse gases."
