Madison Plans A 'New Urbanist' Future

New city plan seeks to preserve the best of the existing built environment and promote "new urbanist" development on the city's edges.
Madison unveiled a 600 page comprehensive plan covering the next 20 years on Thursday. The city will solicit feedback at the neighborhood level before finalizing the plans. "We have an opportunity here in the city of Madison to build something that is really special," Mayor Dave Cieslewicz told the audience at the plan's first public viewing.
