The sociocultural distinctions between city-dwellers and suburbanites are blurring ever more than before.

Author Paula Span reflects on her decision to sell her house in Montclair, New Jersey. She notices that urban and suburban stereotypes do not necessarily hold true as solidly as they did when she purchased the house. Demographics reflect that suburbs and cities are beginning to look much more alike racially and economically than ever before.
