The race to the tallest tower falters.
The age of businesses competing for prestige over the tallest skyscraper is a thing of the past, at least in the United States. Tall, iconic buildings have proven to be expensive status symbols. The next wave of architectural corporate fashion? "Groundscapers": eight to 10-story buildings that some say are a more efficient use of space.
