What is next for two failing shopping malls owned by the Mormon Church in downtown Salt Lake City?

The Mormon Church is eager to redevelop two declining malls it owns that take up a large chunk of downtown Salt Lake City. Some, including the mayor, blame the enclosed malls for killing downtown and are eager to see a plan that integrates the shopping area with the city’s streets. But the church isn’t saying much about what it plans to do, except that it plans to keep the malls enclosed.
