A Chicagoan's View Of LA Subways

Chicago writer describes her experience on the LA Subway: "The honor system on a city subway? Isn't that a little like an honor system at an ATM?"
There is a subway in this city of 7 million cars--17.4 miles on three lines--and this week it's a melting pot. The small minority of Angelenos who ride the subway are joined by delegates and media from other places, typically towns that take a subway line for granted.
