9-11 Memorial Design Exhibit Opens
31 March 2005 - 12:00pm
A travelling exhibit offers a preview of the design for the 9-11 Memorial.
"It includes a white tabletop model of the three-level memorial, along with 10 artists' renditions. Gov. George E. Pataki and the architects explain the $500 million project via video... The design by New York architect Michael Arad, chosen from 5,201 submissions and later refined by San Francisco landscape architect Peter Walker, includes an underground contemplation room with a tomb for the unidentified remains and lets visitors touch the bedrock foundation of the trade center site. The footprints of the twin towers are to become reflecting pools, and a tree-lined 1.5-acre civic plaza will be used for public gatherings."

These interconnections ratify for us the sense that markets are as strong as confidence is present and confidence is as justified as patterns are dependable. These are what might be called our community moorings: anchored, tangible patterns.
