City Backs Developers' Creek Relocation Plan

City of Rancho Cordova, CA, is at odds with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over developers' plan to relocate a creek to make space for a "town center".
A controvertial creek relocation and vernal pools elimination endorsed by lead developer AKT Devlopment and the City of Rancho Cordova, in the the 22,000 unit Sunrise-Douglas housing development, threatens to unravel the wetlands preservation plan agreed upon by property owners after years of negotiation, and may jeopardize the developers' wetlands permit application.
