Albuquerque's New Urbanist Hot-Spot-To-Be

Albuquerque's EDO, or East Downtown, a New Urbanist redevelopment, could be one the nation's upcoming hot areas.
"Plans call for it to become an 'urban village' -- a pedestrian-friendly area with wider sidewalks, on-street parking and main street designs that create slower traffic. Albuquerque joined Downtown Detroit; Del Ray, Va.; Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and the Red Hook section of Brooklyn as the top five "areas in the United States we feel have the greatest potential upswing in real estate values," said Barbara Corcoran, a real estate consulting firm.
