Mercury Pollution Increasing

Study finds that Mercury pollution is more extensive in Northeast.
Perhaps the most troubling discovery to researchers was the mercury found in the blood of songbirds...The finding is important because most previous research has focused on mercury that reaches wetlands and water environments, where it is known to be converted into methylmercury, a toxic form that can easily get into the food chain."
