L.A.'s New Downtown Neighborhood

The developer of Downtown L.A.'s high profile Grand Avenue project releases early details about the mixed use plan.

"Though details are still preliminary, New York-based developer the Related Companies last Tuesday unveiled its vision for transforming the lackluster blocks into a lively pedestrian district and high-density residential hub.

...'We were encouraged at every stop to be bold, urban and dense,' Witte said, referring to a six-month public comment process. 'This is L.A.'s opportunity to build an urban, mixed-use neighborhood.' "
