This Press Democrat editorial applauds the Coalition forSustainable Agriculture for applying for Santa Rosa wastewater to use onnorth county farms. The plan provides a new water resource for farmersin the area, and it would also deliver a host of environmental benefits,the editorial states: revived agriculture would reduce developmentpressures; water re-use would reduce the amount of wastewater dischargedinto streams; and water re-use would make more freshwater available tonatural ecosystems. While the logistics of the plan have yet to besorted out, the Press Democrat asserts the coalition is off to a goodstart.
