Silicon Valley's soaring housing prices are driving home-seekers to the sea. Marina managers are being flooded with desperate calls from people looking for slips to anchor a "floating home" to escape high rents and mortages on land. Floating homes are crowding out smaller boats at the marina. With growing numbers of rich high-tech workers, welfare recipients, and parents of university-bound children considering living on the water, authorities "are cracking down on aqua squatters" by drafting ordinances.
