As European whites evacuate for the suburbs, immigrants fill their urban spaces.
NYC's Planning Dept. employs sophisticated computer models showing where immigrants settle in the 5 boroughs.
"Asked what finding in the in-depth analysis surprised him,Joseph Salvo (director of the Planning Department's population division and one of the authors of the report) pointed to growth and change in south Brooklyn. He described "an intense group of new settlements triggered by housing that has been left by European whites - in Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Canarsie and Flatbush It has become as hot as northern Queens."
