Who Should Pay For BART Extension?

Assemblyman Tom Torlakson (D-Antioch) wants Santa Clara County to pay for rail extensions to Livermore and Antioch.
A bill that would force Santa Clara County to buy in to BART by paying money for rail extensions to Antioch and Livermore has won support from some members of Senate Appropriations Committee committee but drawn the opposition of Governor Gray Davis. Santa Clara County supervisors will vote today to put a half-cent sales tax measure on the November ballot that would generate the money to pay for a BART line to San Jose.
