Ambitious $1 billion plan for a Bay Area ferry system faces enormous hurdles.
With growing traffic problems in the Bay Area, some commuters are enthusiastic about ferries. But an ambitious $1 billion plan for a Bay Area ferry system faces enormous hurdles. The plan hopes to link expanded ferry routes to buses and the BART. Criticsthink the plan is "wildly unrealistic and expensive" and will "favor wealthy commuters at the expense of transit for low-income residents."
